Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Owly Post collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose.

1. Who we are

Owly Post is a service of Devmore, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 88332217, Stationsplein 26, 6512 AB Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Devmore is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at mail@owlypost.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data — your email address and, optionally, your name.
• Preferences — the topics and sources you follow, and your delivery schedule.
• Usage data — which items you open or skip, used to improve what we send you.
• Billing data — handled by our payment provider; we never see your full card details.

3. Why we use it

We use your data to deliver and personalize your digest, to handle billing, and to keep the service secure. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in improving the product.

4. Personalization

Your reading behaviour trains the model that ranks stories for you. This happens on your own account only — we do not sell or share your reading profile with advertisers.

5. Sharing

We share data only with processors that help us run the service, such as hosting, email delivery, payment, and analytics providers (PostHog, hosted in the EU, and — only with your permission — Google Analytics). They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

6. Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we remove your data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from your account settings, or by emailing us. You also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies and analytics

We keep this to the minimum. Nothing below is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Always on, no cookies

• Functional cookies — on app.owlypost.com, to keep you signed in. The cookie owly_consent remembers your answer to the question below for 180 days, on owlypost.com and app.owlypost.com alike.
• Simple Analytics — counts visits to owlypost.com and app.owlypost.com without cookies, fingerprinting, or personal data.
• PostHog — measures how the app is used (which screens you open, which features you use) so we can improve it. It runs without cookies, on servers in the EU, and the data stays with us.

Only with your permission

• Google Analytics — helps us understand how visitors find and use the site. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* (kept for up to two years) and sends usage data to Google, which may process it in the United States. Advertising features are switched off. We do not load Google Analytics until you allow it.

Your choice

You can allow or decline Google Analytics here at any time. Declining after allowing stops the measurement and removes its cookies. Resetting your choice shows the cookie notice again on your next visit.

9. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect.
